Due to its remarkable flexibility it is exceptional for and suitable for use in contact with heated sources and mechanical parts. New acrylic glass with a thickness of 4mm. Aluminum stabilizer machined from solid. Professional Turntable THORENS TD 126 Mk III Without doubt the best turntable for transcription on the market. Servo-driven electronic belt drive system with DC motor - THORENS design. Automatic pitch control with load correction (APC) ISOTRACK TP16 Mk III tonearm with very low effective mass. Low-resonance boom tube using split-wave technology. Electronic shutdown with frictionless speed sensing. Separate motor for arm lift operation. Three speeds 33, 45 and 78 rpm. Precision craftsmanship to meet the highest professional standards.
The TD 126 Mk III from Thorens is the transcription turntable for discerning music lovers and professional users. It is the result of 95 years of musical instrument building experience combined with the mastery of the most advanced technology in the fields of fine mechanics and electronics. Robustness, reliability and lifetime retention of original performance specifications remain unchanged. In their constant battle against rumble, Thorens designed an electronic servo belt drive to be paired with a unique floating suspension system. Thorens TD 126 Mk III claims noise values so low that they have never been matched by any other drive system. THORENS ISOTRACK TP 16 Mark III tonearm... For optimum tracking capability, it's not enough for an arm to have low bearing friction; it's far more important that it have a low effective mass. This is because a high mass prevents the stylus from tracking imperfections (ripple) in the record as it should. To overcome a high effective mass, you can increase the stylus force, but this results in excessive disc wear. Thorens has solved the effective mass problem by removing any unnecessary weight from the tonearm. The cartridge shell is reduced to a shielding device and the detachable connector is placed near the pins where it has negligible influence on effective mass. Typical tonearms have effective masses of about 15 grams... the Thorens Isotrack is half that figure, allowing it to track at the lowest possible stylus pressures. A special surface treatment of the tonearm tube - split wave technology - absorbs all unwanted tonearm resonances. Electronic shutdown with frictionless speed sensing as the record output grooves show a higher tone - that is, the grooves are further apart... the speed of arm movement increases toward the center of the platter. An electronic circuit collects the signal produced by the change in arm speed and commands the motor to stop and the arm to lift. The precision associated with Thorens turntables is further emphasized here, as the activation of the automatic stop process is not position-sensitive, but is completely electronic and frictionless. Another circuit prevents activation of the automatic stop process when the arm is manually moved across the record surface. A separate motor is used for the arm lifting operation.
